A sliding fly screen, also known as a sliding fly screen door or sliding screen, is the fly screen for your sliding patio door or conservatory door. The aluminium panel runs on ball-bearing wheels in a top track and slides to the side, just like your door. So you can open up a wide doorway without letting in mosquitoes and flies.
Benefits
- Made to measure for your sliding door: up to 3 m wide and 3.2 m high in the standard version.
- Smooth sliding on two roller carriages, each with four ball-bearing wheels.
- Takes up no space: the panel slides in front of the fixed part of your door.
- Tracks in the length you need, with a window guide or a flat floor guide at the bottom.
- 90 mm S-shaped handle, or an Invisible version with vertical handles for an unobstructed view.
- In any RAL colour, with the standard colours at no extra cost.
Four versions
- Standard: top track with a window guide or floor guide at the bottom. The most popular version.
- Slim: when there is little space between your window and your roller shutter (from 25 mm), up to 1,600 × 2,500 mm.
- On frame: a surrounding frame inside the reveal, for when there is no room for tracks in front of your window.
- In-and-on frame with two panels: for three-track sliding doors and pergolas.
Mesh and extras
Choose standard grey or black mesh, fine Bellavista mesh for the best view, tough Petscreen if you have pets, or sun-blocking solar screen fabric. The crossbar divides the panel into two sections: use Petscreen at the bottom to resist scratching paws and a highly transparent mesh at the top.
If the panel cannot slide flat against your door, a mohair brush seal of 5 to 35 mm closes the gap, and you can choose the left and right seals separately. With a self-closing damper, the panel slides shut again by itself, and a cat or dog flap can be fitted in a corner kick plate.
How to measure
Measure the width of the panel: from the brickwork to the centre of the meeting stile of your sliding door. Measure the total height including the tracks, from the threshold to the top of your door, and the length of the tracks: usually the full width of your sliding door, so that the panel can open fully. The wheels are adjustable, so a height difference of up to 10 mm is no problem. The measuring guide shows every step with a drawing.
Good to know
If the handle of your sliding door or a moulding is in the way, a spacer of 11 to 30 mm moves the tracks further forward. For a three-track sliding door or a pergola, choose the in-and-on-frame version with two panels. Not sure? Request a quote or call us on +32 12 260 170.
