Maintaining aluminium windows doesn't call for a complicated approach: wash them regularly and nourish the paintwork from time to time, and the profile will keep its colour and gloss for longer. The Novatio Maintenance Box brings together the basic products you need in one box. Novatio put the box together for aluminium profiles, but the products are also suitable for PVC.
Contents of the Maintenance Box
- Novacare Shamp-Wax Windows and Doors, 500 ml: shampoo with carnauba wax that cleans and leaves a glossy, water-beading protective layer, suitable for PVC, aluminium and any paint finish.
- Surface Renewer Windows and Doors, 400 ml bottle: refreshes UV-weathered paintwork, powder coating and PVC, and nourishes the top layer.
- Novawipe Microfibre FS Soft: soft, hemless 38 × 38 cm microfibre cloth, in green.
- Rasta wash mitt: double-sided microfibre mitt with one side covered in microfibre strands and one smooth side.
How to maintain aluminium windows with the box
- Start with plenty of water, so that sand and loose dirt are gone before you start washing.
- Dissolve 60–80 ml of Shamp-Wax in a bucket of lukewarm water and wash with the Rasta, working from the bottom up.
- Rinse everything off with clean water, dry with a chamois and, for extra shine, buff with the dry microfibre cloth.
- If the paintwork looks dull or faded, apply Surface Renewer undiluted with a soft, dry sponge and wipe off any excess with a soft, clean cloth.
Do not work in full sun: apply Surface Renewer at a surface temperature between 10 and 30 °C.
Good to know
Surface Renewer is intended for painted (not varnished) and powder-coated materials and for plastics. If you also want to tackle fingerprints and grease marks, the Maintenance Box Plus additionally contains Multifoam and a second cloth. For PVC windows, there is the Maintenance Box PVC with Bio-Paste, and for a thorough clean twice a year, the Deep Clean Box.
