Removing silicone residue, dissolving adhesive left behind by tape or getting rid of a greasy stain: soap and water won't do it. Novatio Safety Clean is a solvent based on aliphatic hydrocarbons that dissolves this kind of chemical contamination and leaves no residue. It is safe on most materials: glass, rubber, vinyl, Formica, textiles, painted surfaces and most plastics. On light metals such as aluminium, it does not cause oxidation.
Why Safety Clean?
- Dissolves adhesive, sealant, silicone, oil and grease, as well as wax, tar, paraffin wax and printing ink.

Safety Clean in window and door maintenance
In a deep clean, Safety Clean is the second step, after FA Clean: it dissolves resin, tar and other non-polar contamination, which you then wipe away with an absorbent cloth. Always finish with Multifoam. Solvents need time to evaporate completely; if you apply a film or adhesive too soon, you risk blistering or a bond that comes loose. On anodised aluminium, Safety Clean comes first, applied carefully over the entire surface, and Multifoam only afterwards. On vertical surfaces, the gel-type XPR-90 Wax & Glue Remover is more practical, as it does not run.
How to use Safety Clean
- Spray Safety Clean onto the surface to be cleaned.
- Leave it to work; how long depends on the level of contamination.
- Wipe away the loosened dirt with an absorbent cloth.
- Repeat if necessary and finish with Multifoam.

Safety Clean comes in an extremely flammable aerosol in a pressurised container: keep it away from heat and open flames, do not pierce or burn it and do not expose it to temperatures exceeding 50 °C. Avoid breathing the spray and work in a well-ventilated area, as the vapours may cause drowsiness or dizziness. Repeated exposure may cause skin dryness or cracking. On sensitive plastics, test first in an inconspicuous spot.
