This 4-pole 10A circuit breaker (MCB) has three protected poles for the phases and a fourth pole for the neutral. The neutral switches on and off with the phases but has no protection of its own, which is why Schrack calls this 3P+N. This means that in the event of a fault or during maintenance, all conductors of the circuit are disconnected at the same time.
Which circuits is a 10 A 3P+N MCB intended for?
This version is intended for a network with a neutral conductor: the 3N×400 V network. In a 3×230 V network without neutral, a 3-pole MCB is used instead. With 10 A per phase, you can protect loads such as:
- the inverter of a smaller three-phase solar installation, if the manufacturer specifies 10 A
- a low-power three-phase pump or compressor
- a small three-phase machine in the workshop

Installation and connection
At 4 modules wide, this MCB takes up as much space as four single-pole units. The neutral pole is on the right and is marked N on the device, at terminals 7 and 8. Always connect the neutral conductor there, never a phase.
Good to know
Because the neutral is not protected, your electrician will check that the neutral conductor cannot become overloaded. Call in a qualified electrician for the installation; an inspector from an approved inspection body must then check the modified installation.
