A mid clamp sits between two solar panels and presses both frames onto the mounting rail at the same time. This Novotegra mid clamp 30-42 Set C in black anodised aluminium has a contact latch: a small plate that creates a conductive contact between the panel frame and the mounting system, intended for equipotential bonding and for discharging lightning current.
Why this mid clamp?

How the clamping system works
The Novotegra system for tiled roofs consists of three layers: roof hooks on the rafters, two mounting rails per row of panels, and the clamps on top of them. End clamps finish the row at both ends, and mid clamps hold the panels in between. On each rail, you fit one mid clamp between each pair of panels: for a row of five panels, that makes eight.
How to fit the mid clamp
- Secure the outer edge of the first panel with two end clamps.
- Click the mid clamp into the rail from above, against the frame of that panel.
- Slide the next panel firmly up against the clamp.
- Tighten the clamping screw (8 mm hex) to the torque specified by Novotegra in the installation manual.
Good to know
- Whether and how your panels and mounting system are earthed or equipotentially bonded is for your qualified installer to decide, in line with the applicable regulations.
- Panels with a 30 mm frame, such as the Jinko Solar Tiger Neo, fall within the clamping range of this clamp.
- For the outermost panels of each row, use the matching Novotegra end clamp 30-42.
