The Novotegra C-N rail 37 is an aluminium mounting rail for solar panels on a pitched tiled roof. Its 52 × 37 mm profile combines an open cable channel with a continuous side groove, which is used to fix the rail to the roof hooks from the side. The mid and end clamps that hold the panels click onto the top.

Where is this mounting rail used?
In Novotegra's side-fix system, the C-N rail 37 runs horizontally across the tiled roof, with two rails under each row of panels. Novotegra also uses it as the cross rail in a crossed, two-layer arrangement, for example for panels in landscape orientation. The system is designed for clay and concrete tiles and rafters at least 36 mm wide.
Good to know
- The roof hook spacing and the rail overhang are determined by a structural calculation, which Novotegra carries out with its Solar-Planit planning software.
- Novotegra gives a 12-year warranty from installation on the rail, hooks and clamps, provided they are installed in accordance with the manual.
- Use a mitre saw to cut the rail to length. For all-black panels, the same rail is available in black anodised aluminium.
- Leave the installation to a qualified installer.
